iTunes gift cards will be huge for holiday 2009

All gift cards will be big but iTunes will lead

Here at GiftCertificateGuide, we have been speaking with a number of merchants, affiliates and consumers in an effort to determine what gift card will be the most popular in the upcoming holiday season. Certainly there are many gift cards that will sell millions of dollars worth of goods but we have determined that none will out sell iTunes gift cards.

Apple continues to put out industry leading phones and the iTunes platform remains the leader for music and entertainment. Put these together and you have a winner for iTunes gift cards.

The next question revolves around the strength in general of the economy and gift cards in general. Will this year surpass last year. Without a doubt this year will be bigger for gift cards. Will 2009 regain the massive growth curve that the gift card industry was on prior to the crash, maybe not. There is no doubt that we are recovering but 2009 will not be as big as we hope. Look for 2010 to be the official return of the gift card as the leader in holiday giving!
