Apple sued by a Gift Card purchaser

Couple expected all songs to be .99

A Chicago couple is suing Apple. They feel cheated because they purchased a gift card with the intention of buying songs at $0.99 a piece and Apple's pricing has since changed. The gift card, in their mind, is worth less because it is now no longer able to purchase as many songs because of Apple's new pricing.

It is hard for me to imagine what the owners of this itunes gift card believe they can sue for but I guess on some level you have to applaud the effort. No?

The couple who bought the apple gift cards are suing apple for breach of contract and for a violation of an Illinois comsumer protection act. My gut tells me that these people are employed by google or microsoft and have been paid to be a thorn in the side of Apple. I don't think it is wrong to change pricing. You don't see anyone bringing a suit against Nordstrom for buying a gift certificate while the price of shoes have increased.

Prices fluctuate on media, songs and all merchandise. A gift card is not a promise to lock in a certian price. A gift card is simply a wonderful way to give someone buying power at the price of the day it is used.
