Gift Cards Can Save Lives

Gift cards are being offered in exchange for everything these days. 

Some towns are offering gift cards in exchange for guns to make the streets safer, while car dealerships are offering gift cards to take a test drive.

The community blood bank in Ft. Myers, Florida saw an opportunity and quickly followed suit.  They are now offering gift cards, as well as other enticements, to those who donate blood this month.

The first offer is called Chick-fil-A Mondays.  Those who donate blood on Monday through the end of May receive a free sandwich card and are entered to win a $50 gas card.

The blood bank is also hosting May Movie Madness.  Donors who donate at the bloodmobile while it is parked at a local movie theatre receive a free movie voucher.  Donors also make themselves eligible for a drawing to win an additional two movie passes.

The last offer occurs over Memorial Day Weekend and takes place at Whole Foods.  Donors receive a $5 Whole Foods gift card and are once again, eligible for the $50 gas card.

Blood donation in our country plays a crucial role in saving lives.  Many people don’t realize that, nor do they realize how often they can donate.  As long as an individual is 17 years of age and at least 110 pounds, they can donate every two months.  Get out there and save a life, and get some great gift cards in the process.
