The economy is stretched thin and many companies are doing all they can to keep customers loyal. 

Many times, that means offering incentives to keep customers coming back when they might get similar service elsewhere.

One way companies are beginning to do this is by offering gift cards.  Office Depot, for example, has a gift card offer for those who bring in empty printer cartridges.  They give the customer who brings them in a card good for $3 off their next ink cartridge purchase.

Many drugstores, like Walgreens & CVS are now offering rebate programs.  These programs operate by requiring the customer to spend a certain amount each month.  The drugstores then send a gift card at the end of each month equaling a percentage of the total amount spent.

But that’s not the only offers being made by drugstores.  Many are now offering gift cards for customers who transfer their prescriptions to their pharmacies.  Make sure to ask ahead of time if such an offer exists at your pharmacy.

Additionally, many banks are offering gift cards to those who open accounts or enroll in direct deposit programs.  Keep your eyes open for new gift card offers from your local businesses and start saving!
