Gift Card Hacker Sentenced:

A 22 year-old male was recently sentenced to prison time for his involvement in a credit & gift card hacking scheme. 

Zachary Mann faced charges included wire fraud and aggravated identity theft that resulted in a five-year prison term.

The Maple Grove, MN man developed a way to steal individuals’ credit card information by hacking into an internet order-processing server.  Mann used the stolen credit card information to inflate gift card balances of small-value restaurant gift cards he had purchased earlier.

Once Mann had increased the value of his gift cards, he advertised & resold them on Craigslist.  Mann committed these crimes while under supervised release for similar offenses.

Zachary Mann has a history of internet felonies.  In 2005, he created and sent an email virus that opened thousands of users personal information to hackers.
