Sportsman’s Warehouse Looks to Solve Gift Card Problem.

Sportsman’s Warehouse, a sporting goods store with 38 locations across the country, recently restructured and transferred ownership. 

In an attempt to stay afloat, the company has decided to close 23 of its stores.

In addition, the company plans to no longer honor outstanding gift certificates at the stores that are remaining open. 

After an expected backlash from gift card holders, the Billings, MT store has begun to look into the feasibility of accepting the cards.  This Sportsman’s Warehouse is the only store that did not transfer ownership to UFA Cooperative Limited.

Currently the Missoula store, that has transferred ownership, is telling customers to redeem their cards at the Billings store.  The Billings, MT store will ship to most customers and as of this article has yet to decide how to deal with shipping costs.

The Missoula store is doing all it can to make sure its customers are taken care of.  It is great to see a retailer striving to provide exceptional customer service in hard economic times.
