Gift Card purchases have been protected over the last few years with laws around no hidden fees and no less than 5 years for expiration. Now Bankruptcy is the primary concern. Experts have addressed her concern and the answer is not 100% comforting. They explain that the government has tried to build rules and laws to protect customers in ths case of owning cards from bankrupt companies. But an expert on the issue says it well when he explains "rules are in place but rules are one thing and reality can often be something very different."
